NATIONAL CERTIFICATE: WHOLESALE AND RETAIL DISTRIBUTION

We specialise in learnerships that are aligned primarily to the Transport Sector (TETA) and Wholesale and Retail Sector (W&RSETA). Individuals are able to articulate through our learning pathway in various workplace-orientated programmes. Some of our learnerships can be broken into programmes which address very specific requirements in the workplace.

OVERVIEW
The National Certificate: Wholesale and Retail Distribution, NQF Level 2, is designed for learners who are already employed and involved in the major areas of the distribution field and who want to pursue a career in the wholesale and retail industry, or in fields where this learning may be useful. This includes adult learners who want to enter the arena or develop their careers in one or more of the related sub-fields. As this programme may form part of a learning pathway, it may allow mobility to persons operating at any level in the field.
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME
The purpose of this programme is to enable learners to understand and familiarise themselves with the underlying principles of all the major areas related to distribution within the wholesale and retail sector. The programme further aims to provide career paths through various levels and areas of the wholesale and retail environment to promote the notion of quality, lifelong learning. By assisting in the development of competence in the wholesale and retail field, the learners will be able to define the core concepts of their environment, work with a wide range of functions to solve problems, apply safety practices, behave in a professional manner in the working environment and plan their own self-development. WHAT CAN THE LEARNER EXPECT

Learners will gain skills, such as the following:
• Picking stock in a distribution centre/warehouse
• Moving, packing and maintaining stock in a distribution centre/warehouse
• Counting stock for a stock take
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment in a distribution centre
• Processing payment at a Point of Sales (POS)
• Recording transactions

DURATION
This programme can be completed over a minimum duration of one year and a maximum of two.
MODE OF DELIVERY
This programme can be completed over a minimum duration of one year and a maximum of two.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
It is assumed that learners accessing this programme are competent in Communication at NQF Level 1 and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 1.
